Principal's Message

Dear Bettis Preparatory Leadership Academy School Community,

It is an honor to introduce myself as the new principal of Bettis Preparatory Leadership Academy and to join this extraordinary school community. I am looking forward to a wonderful school year together. I can assure you that I share in this school community’s commitment to caring for your children each and every day while providing them with a 21st Century learning environment.

I arrive to Bettis Preparatory Leadership Academy as a seasoned elementary teacher and building administrator, but in addition to my role as an educator, I am first a mother, grandmother, and wife. I have a blended family of 5, with our children ranging from age 29 to age 13. I am the proudest grandmother of 2 and enjoy spending most of my downtime laughing and playing with them, there is just something amazing about the giggles of toddlers and infants.

The school year will mark my 21st year in education. I have served in various capacities in education, ranging from newborn through young adulthood. Although I have always felt at home in the classroom, it is in my position as a school administrator where I have been most fulfilled in my life’s work. As a school administrator, I have the honor to work with teachers daily while remaining connected to young students learning and growing in the classroom. I passionately believe that every child can learn, grow, and excel and that the partnership between home and school builds confidence in students to use their powers to shape their future and the future of our community and our nation.

As the new administrator at Bettis Preparatory Leadership Academy School, I am committed to always exploring new ways to meet the needs of all students and to communicate with parents and community members more effectively. Our school leadership team will meet with parents, students, and staff throughout the year to identify goals in student achievement, school climate, and parent communication. In doing this together, we can assure a more cohesive approach to a unified and progressive future for our school.

In closing, please know that my door is always open to you. I heartily welcome your conversation and positive input and continuous feedback throughout this year. Let us always keep our students the primary focus of our work. I look forward to celebrating our collective successes during this school year.

Sincerely,

Mrs. Natonia Tillman
Principal
